Can you switch off 4G in your data settings then try to manually select AT&T in the network settings?

I did this and data worked for a day or so. Now it has stopped. It's weird because my partner's identical phone (Samsung A5) with same settings is getting data. I got this phone on bill pay last Jan from Carphone Warehouse on the Three network. Would it be locked because one option would be to buy a US sim?

The phone would be locked to Three and as per our unlocking policy but I can take a closer look at your data settings. Can you PM me the name, address, date of birth & number?
