Credit used up already

Can someone just point me in the right direction? Switched on the 18th May from a bill pay to pre-pay. Topped up by €20 on that day and already out of credit. I still have texts, data etc (couldn't get any internet usage though) spare so is it the calls?
Guy in shop just handed me the sim and I never asked about non-three calls. Doesn't seem to come up oh my three account.
It's probably something stupid I'm missing but if anyone could tell me what to avoid doing so I won't burn through so much credit.
