It’s that time of year again. Yes, you know what I’m talking about! This year is the 12th anniversary of the iPhone. And at this year’s September Apple Event in San Francisco, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max were unveiled to the public. We at Three know that all iPhone fans will want to check these beauties out.
This range comes with iOS 13 and an A13 Bionic processor which promises to be the fastest CPU available on the market. Improved camera features are stealing the show this year on all models with 4K video for both front and rear cameras, and with slow-motion video for the selfie camera. Interested? Read on to learn about the great features this range has to offer.
Let’s start with the visuals; there are 6 colours to choose from. You have the usual black/white and if you’re feeling more adventurous; green, purple, product red and yellow. The Liquid Retina HD display is generous at 6.1 which is plenty screen for viewing videos and reading 3Community articles 💪
Apple has upped the game on cameras this year and the iPhone 11 features a 12mp dual-camera system. The usual wide lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens allows you to pack more into your shots. The front-facing camera has received a make-over too, improving those selfies. Capture your best low-light photos with Night mode. See true-to-life colour in your photos, videos and games. Oh and there’s up to 17 hours of video playback.
There’s some more good news here too; the iPhone 11 is available in three different memory sizes and, of course, the next-gen Face ID for secure authentication and Apple Pay.
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
The Pro is the little one in this trio, but don’t let that fool you. The 5.8 Super Retina XDR display supports HDR10 with Dolby Vision as does The Pro Max with a bigger 6.5 display, which is the brightest iPhone display yet. From the aesthetic perspective, there’s a toughened glass body and a beautiful matt finish to the 4 colours (space grey, silver, gold and midnight green).
So now the part that has the whole world talking; the all-new-triple camera system! The Pro and Pro Max are heralds of Apple's first pairing of a wide-angle lens with both telephoto and ultrawide-angle lenses. Features include 4x optical zoom, night mode and a new portrait lighting effect called monochrome. The Pros feature iOS 13 with dark mode as well as some new tools for editing photos and videos. We can’t wait for the upcoming deep fusion feature, which through machine learning, takes the best of nine images; compiles them into one to give you the best photo.
So what’s left?
Both the Pro and Pro Max come with 64GB, 256GB or 512GB internal memory. Great for storing all those 4K videos, beautiful portraits and sweeping landscapes. The battery life has been extended by 4/5 hours so you can get all-day battery life, couple that with Fast charge (18W adapter included) and you’ll be sorted in no time, after all in a fast-paced world why should you wait?
Face ID is as with the iPhone 11, one point to note here is that the 11 is water-resistant up to a depth of 2 metres while the Pros can go farther with up to 4 metres water resistance.
