GIFs are a really fun and useful way to convey your emotions instead of regular texting, and luckily you can now send GIFs via WhatsApp.
How do I do this?
Sending GIFs on iOS
When sending a GIF on your iPhone, follow these steps when you’re writing a message on WhatsApp:
Tap the ‘+’ symbol in the bottom left corner.
Tap ‘Photo & Video Library’.
You’ll see your own photo library now, but in the bottom left corner you will see ‘GIF’ beside a little magnifying glass image. Tap this.
Now you’ll be given access to Giphy’s GIF library (see image below). Simply search for a person, word or feeling and see all the GIFs relating to it.
Pick the GIF you want, and then send it like any other image.
Sending gifs on Android
To send a gif on an Android device, here’s what you need to do:
When writing a text on WhatsApp, tap the emoticon face on the bottom left corner.
At the bottom of the screen, tap ‘GIF’ (see image below).
You’ll now have your choice of gifs to add to your message.
