Late fee for bill already paid

Today I received a €12.70 unpaid fee in my bank account even though my bill had already been paid via the 3 app and the money was taken from my bank account. I paid the bill in advance of the due date and received confirmation from 3 that they had received my payment and issued me with a reference number. Don’t understand why I’ve been charged a late fee?...

@ShaunaBro Hi there, we present the direct debit about 10 working days before the due date. So if a card payment was made during that time, the bank will still go to process the direct debit, as there isn't enough turn around time to notify the bank that a card payment was made.  If funds are available in your bank account a second payment will go through, however, if the direct debit isn't successful, the bank will issue a fee.
