Phones compatible with Three ?

Navigator

Hi,

Do you know if the UMIDIGI F1 phone is compatible with Three? Its not listed on the frequency checker sites:

2G:GSM 2 /3 /5 /8
3G:WCDMA 1 /2 /4 /5 6/8/19
4GFDD:FDD-LTE 1 /2 /3 /4 /5 /7 /8 /12 /13 /17 /18 /19 /20 /25 /26 /28A /28B
4G TDD:TDD-LTE 34 /38 /39 /40 /41

The other phone is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro :

LTE:B1/3/4/5/7/8/20/38/40
WCDMA:B1/B2/B4/B5/B8
GSM:B2/B3/B5/B8

It's listed on the frequency checker sites and says (some variants) have matching bands except for 4G (its missing B20 - 800). How would that work ?

Three bands being :

4G: 800MHz & 1800MHz

3G: 2100MHz & 900MHz

2G: 900MHz & 1800MHz

UMIDIGI F1 looks ok for 4g and 4g+

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro  looks ok for 4g and 4g+

You just need to make sure that it has support for B3 and B20

Note: as your buying an unsupported phone on the 3 network there is no guarantee that the phone will be able to connect to the network

Hi,

Yes I am aware even if it has matching bands it may not work.

Look here :

https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/IE/xiaomi-redmi-note-6-pro

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has B3(1800) but not B20(800).  Do you know how the phone will work with one of the two bands for 4G ?

It seems as though Umidigi F1 has the B3 and B20 for Three (only missing 2G coverage):

The Umidigi F1 is probably the safer buy of the two?

The Umidigi F1 doesn't have 2G but I guess its not used that much and its a better bet ?

Thanks for your time !!

@AINDRIU I found your posts. They weren't deleted but the external links resulted in the auto filter keeping them from fully posting and attaching to your thread. Not to worry though I've over ridden this and moved your posts here.

I cant fully remember I think calls may still be made over 2g is some situations so possibly you may have issues if there is no 2g on a device

Hi,

I am thinking of moving to Three.  I live in Killiney and work in Liffey Valley, both band 3.  I have an LG V30+ model LG-H932 which says it has bands 3 and 20.  Will I get full coverage with this?  Thanks
