They really should have just disabled 4G in the effected cell as then users would have to do anything.
But i dont think they were aware of the how the fault exactly was effecting the subscribers.

The fault still exists,
Enable 4G on a phone, the phone connects, leave the phone a few minutes and there is no coverage.
Enable 2G on phone, coverage is restored
