Hi, I'm trying to get an unlock code for an iPhone but two attempts online have failed with "
The information you supplied to us via our online form was either incomplete or does not match the information we have registered to your account. At this time we ask that you resubmit the network unlock code form at http://www.three.ie/unlockcode, ensuring that all of the required fields are completed in full.
But I don't know what is wrong with the information I supplied. Can anyone help?

Can you PM me your details so I can check this out more for you @mark11? I just need your mobile phone number, full name, address and DOB. Also send on the IMEI of the phone too. You'll get this by dialing *#06# into the phone. Bob

Hi Mark, if you can get on to Apple this will send you an email with confirmation of this. We'll then be able to request the unlock code for you.

Response from Apple is that only you can unlock the phone:
"When you request to have a phone unlocked it will go through to the carrier of the device. Apple does not have a way to authorize the carrier to unlock the phone. Apple provides the device but we do not actually lock or unlock devices. that is all done through your carrier. I know that you have reached out to them but I would suggest reaching out again and speaking to someone higher up is possible. Here is the support article that goes over the step to unlock the device with your carrier. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201328"
They also said they have no way to confirm that they phone was bought in the US.

I bought it as a replacement for a phone that was under contract at the time. I can only assume that they put the same carrier lock on the replacement phone. They kept the original phone and of course that contract would have expired years ago anyway.

I would imagine that if it was bought in the Apple store in the States @mark11 that it wouldn't be locked to our network. Have you tried a non-Three SIM in it to see if this is the case?

Yes of course I have tried that. That's why I'm here. The message in iTunes says "SIM not supported ...."
Look, either its your phone and the contract is over and you need to unlock it.
Or its not your not your phone and you shouldn't have a lock on it at all so you need to unlock it.
Which option will we go for here? I don't mind which one!
